Pyrrha feels like destroying things, if it weren’t for the fact everything around here had been reduced to rubble already. She just turned 18 and is ready to finally start her life for real. But here she is, in May 1945, facing the remains of what once was Europe. Looking around her, mankind seems doomed. To hell with it!
Still, she sets off and wandering through the ruins of what once was, she looks for answers in the stories of the people she meets along the way. Why would you want to save humanity after Auschwitz? Can the good in people prevail over the bad? Why would it be up to her to do something? And if so, where to start?
Pyrrha Throws a Stone is a powerful monologue set right after the war, but it could just as well have been today. To many young people today it might seem there is not much of a future left either. This story about hope and finding the good in people when everything seems lost, will speak to them as well.
The fictional monologue is partly based on true stories of Europeans. You can read their stories here on the website.
